Next Meeting

censusThe March Meeting for NPBA will be on Monday, March 8th. Once again we
will meet in the conference room at the Pasadena Public Library from
11:30 -1:00.

We will have a panel of three experts talking to us about the upcoming
2010 Census. This will be an important meeting and we hope that you will
be able to attend.

Please bring your lunch if you would like to and meet with us for this
most informative meeting.

Chad Burke To Speak at Febuary 8th General Meeting

Chad Burke

President and CEO of the Economic Alliance Houston Port Region.

Came to the Economic Alliance in 2008 as Project Director in 2008 – with a specific focus on the San Jacinto Texas Historic District revitalization project. Previously Project Manager at the Technology & Economic Development Division of the Texas Engineering Extension Service in College Station, where duties focused on business development and project oversight. Worked with cities throughout the state to provide technical assistance for economic development and strategic regional planning.

First Meeting for 2010

3915880075_b42df72868 Randy Drake owner of Drake Printing and formally of Pasadena Second Century Board gave a presentation of a proposed Farmers Market. Drake told the group that is was just in the very early stages. City of Pasadena Economic Development Officer Paul Davis said the City was looking into whether it was feasible and would draw enough interest.  Several locations were mentioned from Memorial Stadium, Pasadena Town Square and Shaw Street, but no location is set. Marilyn Wilkins, incoming President ” said the North Pasadena Business Association would assist in the project”.

Another topic discussed was the circular bus route that start at the first of the year, a one year trial will determine whether there is enough people willing to justify the cost of operations.

Our Christmas party this year is going to be at Bayou City Wings, 3800

Spencer Highway.  This is on the corner of Spencer and Burke.  It will be

Tuesday, Dec. 8th, from 5:30-7:30PM.  We are asking everyone to bring a
toy (new and unwrapped) or a $5.00 donation for the Officer Santa Program.

We will need RSVP’s PLEASE!!

We will be sending out reminders every couple of days.  Bring yourself, a
friend, relative or working buddy along with your toys.

Sarah Metzger from the City of Pasadena to speak at meeting

Our next NPBA Meeting will be on Monday, Nov. 9. Sarah Metzger from the
City of Pasadena will be our guest speaker. She will be briefing us on
the Pasadena Citizen’s Advisory Council. We will meet at 11:30AM in
the conference room at the Pasadena Library. This will be a BYOL (bring
your own lunch) meeting. Please try to join us for this informative
meeting.

State Representative Ken Legler to speak at October Meeting

846588State Representative Ken Legler will be the October 12th Speaker for the upcoming general meeting. He will give a update on proposed Constitutional  Amendment’s for the November Election.

img_17151Keith Nielsen President of N.P.B.A. talked about upcoming projects like the North Pasadena Redevelopment Plan and repairing Christmas Decorations that are on Southmore and  Pasadena Blvd at our August 10th meeting.     Does your business need a facelift? How about a parking lot, paint, signs, or a whole new look? The City of Pasadena's Facade Improvement Grant Program is here to help you. There are matching funds available up to $7500, if your business is located within the designated areas. These areas are generally major thoroughfares located between Shaw Avenue and Southmore Avenue, and between Richey Street and Pasadena Boulevard. Other extended areas are also included.
