September General Meeting

Please join us for our next General Meeting on Monday, September 13th.
Chad Burke from The Economic Alliance will be talking to us about the
Corridor Standards.

The Corridor Standards project deals with the gateways that each of the 11
cities is erecting to mark their membership in the San Jacinto Historic
District.  In addition, recommended landscaping, signage, fencing, etc. is
being recommended to provide visual continuity to the district.

As usual, we will be meeting in the Conference Room at The Pasadena Public
Library, 1201 Jeff Ginn Memorial Dr., from 11:30-1:00pm.

Feel free to bring your lunch.  Coffee and water will be available.

August Beautification Award

Strawberry Stroll

July NPBA Beautification Award

The North Pasadena Business Association awarded Slick’s Carwash and Detailing with its July NPBA Beautification Award.

Slick’s Hand Carwash and Detailing, located at 205 Shaw Ave., opened its doors in November 2008.

The carwash serves residential, commercial, and industrial customers and is open Monday through Saturday.

July 12th Gereral Meeting

Our next NPBA Meeting is going to be held on Monday, July 12th.

Our guest speaker will be Paul Davis of Second Century Development. He
will be talking about the new businesses that are coming to Pasadena and the business climate in our area. As Paul likes to put it, “Everything I ever wanted to know about Economic Development, I learned in Kindergarten”!!

Please join us for this enjoyable and informative meeting in the conference room at the Pasadena Public Library at 11:30am.

ABC Dental Receives Beautification Award

ABC Dental’s Josh Moreno and staff accepts the NPBA Beautification award for June 2010

Last year ABC Dental Owner Dr. Jabbary purchased 3,000 bicycles and asked his staff at ABC Dental and volunteers from the community to help him reach his goal of providing a Christmas present for children from lower income backgrounds.P1014001

June 14th Monthly Meeting

June 14th speaker for North Pasadena Business Association will be Ms. Lillian Acosta with Workforce Solutions. This company helps employers solve workforce-related business problems and area residents build careers, so that both can better compete in the changing worldwide economy.

May Monthly Meeting

May meeting for North Pasadena Business Association will be
held on Monday, May 10th. We will be having representatives from
Pasadena Faith in Action come and tell us about their program.

This is a group of local pastors from all denominations helping residents
whose homes are in need of repairs.

As usual, we will meet in the conference room at the Main Branch of the
Pasadena Public Library, 1201 Jeff Ginn Memorial Dr. from 11:30A – 1:00P.

Darrell Carpenter of Tex-Pro Inspection Services, David Brannon,
Pasadena Fire Marshal and Mark Benoit from ReMax will be our speakers on

They will be talking about fire hazards, code enforcement and real estate
and the impact it can have on North Pasadena.

o Bryan Bass, BNSF Railroad’s Senior Manager of Homeland Security will describe some of the things done by Burlington Northern Santa Fe to keep hazardous material shipments secure from terrorists.
o Jeff Tippit of Clark Freight has been invited to do the same for trucking.
o Speakers will show us how to read placards on railcars and trucks.
o Pasadena Police Department will provide an update on enforcement of DOT truck regulations.

    Be a proactive business organization in the continuing effort to revitalize North Pasadena. Maintain as well as promote civil and social welfare in the area of the City of Pasadena, Harris County, Texas bordered on the north by the Houston Ship Channel, on the west by Allen Genoa Road, on the south by Spencer Highway and on the east by Beltway 8.

    Does your business need a facelift? How about a parking lot, paint, signs, or a whole new look? The City of Pasadena's Facade Improvement Grant Program is here to help you. There are matching funds available up to $7500, if your business is located within the designated areas. These areas are generally major thoroughfares located between Shaw Avenue and Southmore Avenue, and between Richey Street and Pasadena Boulevard. Other extended areas are also included.
