Our next NPBA General Meeting will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011.

Our featured guest will be Kirk Lewis, PISD Superintendent. He will be talking about the 2011 Bond Election and how it will affect North Pasadena if it passes. Please try to join us for this very important meeting.As always, we meet in the conference room at the Main Branch of the Pasadena Library, 1201 Jeff Ginn Memorial Dr., from 11:30 am – 1 pm.

National Night Out

National Night Out strengthens community ties

On Tuesday, October 4, residents across Pasadena will host parties, barbeques, parades, ice cream socials, games or other activities during National Night Out, as neighbors across our city and in communities throughout the state come together for an important purpose.

Our next NPBA Meeting will be held on Monday, August 8th, from 11:30 AM
- 1 PM. We will be back at the Pasadena Public Library, 1211 Jeff Ginn Memorial Drive.

Our speaker will be Josh Moreno, from ABC Family Dentistry. He’ll be talking about his upcoming partnership with Walmart, hosting the First Annual Hope and Education for Our New Generation back-to-school campaign. Please come and join us for the important meeting.

Feel free to bring your lunch or you may order something from Sprinkles
Cafe in the Library.

September Beautification Award

The North Pasadena Business Association presented the September Beautification award to Advance Auto Parts located at 701 Southmore.

The award was presented to Advance Auto Parts due to their landscape and upkeep of their property. The assistant manager is Emily Cisneros.

The store opened in March 2008. There are 2 stores total in Pasadena; the additional store is on Fairmont.

NPBA Members and Guests:

Please join us for our next General Meeting on Monday, September 13th.
Chad Burke from The Economic Alliance will be talking to us about the
Corridor Standards.

The Corridor Standards project deals with the gateways that each of the 11
cities is erecting to mark their membership in the San Jacinto Historic
District. In addition, recommended landscaping, signage, fencing, etc. is
being recommended to provide visual continuity to the district.

As usual, we will be meeting in the Conference Room at The Pasadena Public
Library, 1201 Jeff Ginn Memorial Dr., from 11:30-1:00pm.

Feel free to bring your lunch. Coffee and water will be available.

T-Mobile is awarded the NPBA August Beautification Award. Derek Brown, Retail Store Manager accepts award for T-Mobile with N.P.B.A. Board Members Judy Wingo, Robyn Curtis and Sheila Henderson.

T-Mobile is located at Pasadena & Southmore.

Strawberry Stroll

July NPBA Beautification Award

The North Pasadena Business Association awarded Slick’s Carwash and Detailing with its July NPBA Beautification Award.

Slick’s Hand Carwash and Detailing, located at 205 Shaw Ave., opened its doors in November 2008.

The carwash serves residential, commercial, and industrial customers and is open Monday through Saturday.

Our guest speaker will be Paul Davis of Second Century Development. He
will be talking about the new businesses that are coming to Pasadena and the business climate in our area. As Paul likes to put it, “Everything I ever wanted to know about Economic Development, I learned in Kindergarten”!!
